Sam's Club closed 63 of it's big box warehouse stores Thursday including several Midwest locations.

The big box retailer has announced the store's closing earlier this morning according to reports in today's Business Insider.

The move will likely put hundreds of Sam's Club employees out of work.

Fortunately for our area, there have been no Eastern Iowa Sam's Club stores closed.

CBS2/FOX28 called stores in Cedar Rapids, Dubuque and Waterloo who confirmed they are still open.

The Sam's Club in Moline, IL is closing.

CBS2 News reports "the sudden closures come on the same day that Walmart announced it was raising its minimum wage to $11 per hour, and handing out one-time cash bonuses as a result of tax reform that was passed."
