Despite the recent theory from a scientist that the “Loch Ness Monster” is actually a prehistoric sea turtle that had become trapped in the Loch, the creature has been spotted THREE TIMES this month.

Henry Bauer, a former professor at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, suggested that ‘Nessie’ could have been a type of undiscovered turtle trapped in the Loch as the waters receded at the end of the last Ice Age.

Believable? Let’s see: According to many of the 1100+ sightings dating all the back to 535 AD, “Nessie” appears to be air-breathing but spends a lot of the time in deep water – hence the rare sightings. It may venture onto land, appears to be very fast in water, and has a relatively long neck.

Yeah…it could be a turtle, I guess.

Regardless, more sightings of the creature have been announced on lochnesssightings.com:

January 11:

According to the site:

a woman noticed a "V" shaped wake close to the left front side of the loch shore and less than 10 seconds later, she saw something black surface for only about a second before it disappeared.

January 19:

Eoin O'Fagan caught sight of something unexplained on the webcam. He said that it was visible for about 20 minutes but he managed to get a recording of it for 3 and a half minutes. He also explained that it was coming in and out of view for 20 minutes and there was definitely no boat traffic in the area.

January 22:

Again, Eoin O'Fagan caught sight of something unexplained on the webcam - it was very similar to the 19 January sighting. He said that he saw 2 objects splashing around in the bay about 100 feet apart. They were 2 black objects throwing up a lot of water, appeared to be quite large. They were visible for up to 3 minutes.

I didn’t see much in the video, other than a couple of sheep grazing next to the Loch, and they didn’t seem to be too concerned that a creature was (allegedly) splashing around and making a commotion nearby.
