The Iowa men's basketball team has won three straight games and one of the big reasons is the play of their freshman point guard who played high school basketball in Marion.

Jordan Bohannon, averaged 16 points, three assists, and 2.5 rebounds in Iowa's victories over Rutgers and Nebraska this past week. During those two games, Bohannon was nine of 13 from three-point range, an incredible 69 percent. He has already set the Iowa record for made three-pointers by a freshman, with 54. That's two more than Matt Gatens made during his freshman year, in 2009. Considering it's the first full week of February, Jordan is almost assured to obliterate the old record.

This marks Bohannon's first Freshman of the Week honor, and the second this year for Iowa. Isaiah Moss was named Freshman of the Week December 12.

Peter Jok has twice been named Big Ten Player of the Week. He was given the honor on November 21 and December 12.

Iowa goes for a fourth straight victory Wednesday night at Minnesota. The Golden Gophers are 16-7 and ended a five-game losing streak Saturday with a victory at Illinois. Wednesday night's game begins at 8 p.m. and is televised by Big Ten Network.
