Linn County residents can get out and vote today during a special election. Among the races to be decided include mayor for the city of Cedar Rapids. Lawyer Brad Hart faces off against former city council member Monica Vernon. There is also a runoff for City Council District 5 as incumbent Justin Shields faces challenger Ashley Vanorny.

The Linn County Auditor's office says that early voter turnout for the special election has been strong. Around 3,000 votes were cast early, compared to around 1,000 votes during the special election four years ago.

We had a chance to talk with both candidates for Cedar Rapids mayor. Below you can view our interviews with Brad Hart and Monica Vernon. If you aren't sure where to vote you can click HERE for all the information you need. Get out and vote!
