Linn County Bank Robbed At Gunpoint
A host of local and national authorities are investigating a bank robbery late Friday morning in Springville. According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, a 9-11 call reporting a bank robbery was made from Security State Bank at 607 6th Street South, at around 11:41 Friday morning.
When deputies arrived on the scene they were told a white male, in his mid-30's, had walked through the main entrance at Security State Bank. He then approached a teller window, showed a handgun, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The man then left on foot, heading north. Thankfully, no one was injured.
The Mt. Vernon Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Jones County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have all assisted the Linn County Sheriff's Office in the ongoing investigation.
