The Iowa Senate and the signature of Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds are the only things now standing in the way of lemonade stands being legalized in the state.

According to KMAland, the Iowa House passed the bill 96-0 earlier this week, sending it to the Senate. The bill was introduced by Ray "Bubba" Sorensen of Greenfield. Sorensen is also the artist painting Freedom Rocks in all 99 Iowa counties.

When he brought the bill to the floor, Sorensen said, "House File 2238 is what I've dubbed the Lemonade Stand Bill. Yes, you read that right, lemonade stands are illegal in Iowa. This bill looks to right that wrong, so we don't continue to have headlines like 'Iowa Police shut down 4-year-old's lemonade stand.'"

If passed by the Senate and signed into law by Governor Reynolds, the new law would allow kids to sell non-alcoholic beverages and food that's not time/temperature controlled.
