It certainly is an everchanging world, isn't it? We have so many more options when it comes to places to eat, sleep (think Airbnbs), travel, and even more ways to invest now than we did, say, 20 years ago.

One of the newer ways to invest is cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin which is a very popular form of cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency or crypto is a digital form of currency that is not reliant on any government or bank, to uphold or maintain it.

For most consumers interested in purchasing crypto, ways to do so may have required research or a confusing website. That is, until now. Wisconsin-based Kwik Trip (known as Kiwk Star in Iowa) has rolled out Bitcoin ATMs chainwide.

According to Convenient Store News, the Coinsource bitcoin ATMs are now being rolled out to all stores, after originally being test piloted in Wisconsin. This means there will be Coinsource machines in over 800 stores in the three states that have Kwik Star/Trip locations - Minnesota being the third.

While the expanded rollout was announced in May, some eastern Iowa Kwik Star locations are now starting to see the machines.

While Kwik Star advertises no-fee ATMs, Coinsource's fee is 11 percent. However, the article indicates that Kwik Rewards members will receive a discount on the fee. While Kwik Star provides a new option for purchasing bitcoin, they are not the first convenience store in Iowa to offer bitcoin.

Cincinnati-based Circle K rolled out an option to purchase Bitcoin in 2021 and has since expanded to 700 machines in 30 states and Canada.

Because of the availability with the Kiwk Star partnership, Convenience Store News now says there is a bitcoin ATM within a 15-minute drive for 80 percent of the population in the country.
