Many thanks to all our guests and friends of Gregg Scharnau for coming in this morning to share some memories, laughs and tears with the KRNA Morning Show.

Gregg passed away on Tuesday morning December 20, following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He served as KRNA Program Director for the past 14 years before his illness forced his early retirement in July.

"Shark" would have probably been a little embarrassed by all the attention being focused on him...but that's how he was, and who he was. Gregg was a charming, self-effacing, laid-back kind of guy.

A special thank you to Don Black, Josh Loeffler, Mike McGrath, Bob James, Jay Parsons, Mark Meyer, Terry Peters, Justin Roberts and Brian Davis for sharing their stories with us.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Wednesday December 28th at 7:00 p.m. at Theater Cedar Rapids, 102 3rd St. SE. for family and friends to gather, honor and remember Gregg. We hope to see you there.

A special memorial fund has been established in his children's names ("Dylan, Lia, Henry, and Josephine Scharnau's Education Fund") at Hills Bank in Marion, Iowa.

If you missed today's broadcast, we have several segments posted here from our KRNA You Tube channel, along with some memorable SHARK BITES.
