Kernels Prep For a Big Homestand

The Cedar Rapids Kernels return to Veterans Memorial Stadium Wednesday for the start of a seven-game homestand. The Kernels will host a 3-game series against the Clinton Lumberkings Wednesday (8/3) through Friday (8/5), with each game starting at 6:35 p.m. Then the Peoria Chiefs come to town Saturday (8/6) through Monday (8/9). Saturday's first pitch is 5:05 p.m., Sunday it's 2:05 p.m. and the Monday and Tuesday start time is 6:35 p.m.

The Kernels, a Class A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, are coming off of a fantastic 2015 season where they came up just short of the Midwest League championship. This homestand is a big one, as the Kernels are trailing Clinton in the Midwest League Western Division.  Get out to the ballpark and support the Kernels! Summer is going fast... after this homestand, they have only 10 regular season games remaining on the 2016 schedule.
