"The words "fun" and "run" go together for some people about as well as pineapple and pizza. But get Crunch Berries, art and music involved and you've got yourself a party.

Iowa's News Now has details on this awesome "color run" happening this Fall in Cedar Rapids. The fun run (and walk) starts and ends on the 2nd Avenue bridge in downtown Cedar Rapids on Saturday, October 2. There's no word on whether sponsor Quaker Oats will arrange for "crunch berry day" in Cedar Rapids to take place at the same time but it might make the run go a little faster.

Anyway, the best part of this run (besides proceeds going to charity, which we'll get to in a moment) is that it's an "out and back" route, meaning for the less athletically-inclined, you can turn around at any time along the route. It's non-competitive and there is zero pressure. It's fun for all ages and athletic abilities, and registration includes a race t-shirt and sunglasses to wear during the event. These events usually involve participants getting all painted out in wacky colors to enjoy the festivities and that is in fact the case here as the Eventbrite page states "you will be doused in environmentally-friendly color powder as you run or walk the route."
