How One Eastern Iowa Man Turned a Few Bucks into Over $60K Cash
I'm not sure how some people do it... they have ALL the luck, really. The man in our story walked into a Casey's, the one at 115 25th Ave. in Gilbertville, the very one seen below in fact...
And he walked out with more than $62,000! No, he didn't rob the place. First off, most convenience stores don't have that kinda cash on hand. Next off, the tone of this story would be FAR different if he had.
Oh no, Mr. Gregory Even walked out of that Casey's win something worth $62,388. A winning Extreme Green Progressive Iowa Lottery InstaPlay ticket.
If you're like me, you're weren't sure what InstaPlay is exactly. Sure I've heard the radio ads and seen the TV commercials for it, but what, exactly, is InstaPlay?
According to Iowa Lottery's description:
The InstaPlay product combines features from instant-scratch and lotto games. InstaPlay tickets are called "scratchless" because they have no security coating that needs to be removed to determine the prize won.
As far as how the tickets are generated,
...And rather than having supplies of tickets printed in advance like those in traditional scratch and pull-tab games, InstaPlay tickets are printed on demand from the lottery terminal.
Exactly what Mr. Even plopped down for his winning ticket is not specified, though InstaPlay tix run from $1 to $20, so it was not a lotta dough to score the $60+K in cold hard cash.
Another recent eastern Iowa big winner was Toby Williamson of Cedar Falls who scored a $100,000 payday off a $10 scratch ticket called "Jewel 7’s". Toby bought his ticket at the Thunder Ridge Ampride in Cedar Falls.
Some folks have ALL the luck!
