The Guinness Record For World’s Largest Collection Of Spoons Is In Davenport
We love Guinness World Records, and one just got certified right here in the Quad Cities.
Nestled right along the river in Davenport, Camellia Pohl's collection of spoons has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the World's Largest Collection Of Spoons.
She began collecting when her great-grandmother gifted her a set of antique spoons before she left for Army basic training. She told Guinness that she thinks she's driven over one million miles in her lifetime to collect the spoons, picking them up all across the United States and abroad.
Her collection reached a size where not only did she need somewhere to put it, but she wanted to share it with the world. So, Camellia opened the Mississippi Spoon Gallery.
Located at 902 E River Drive, you can go for yourself to see a Guiness World Record, right here in town.
The gallery features 38,162 spoons from all over the world, some stamped with historic monuments and places that no longer exist. One of the coolest parts is her "spoondelier."
Admission to the gallery is just $8 for adults, and $5 for students or veterans.
