Fans of a great burger have a new restaurant to check out this week. Wayback Burgers is officially open in Iowa!

Wayback Burgers Opens First Iowa Location

Wayback Burgers is opening its first Iowa location today in Waukee. The Des Moines Register reports that the national fast-food chain is known for made to order burgers and hand dipped milkshakes. Sounds good to me! The restaurant can be found at 1165 SE Alice's Road in Waukee.

What Makes Wayback Burgers Great?

The Register reports that Wayback Burgers isn't like most fast food chains. Your burger is built in front of you, as you order it. All the hamburger patties are cooked fresh, and burgers aren't assembled ahead of time. They offer a number of different burgers, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, and even and Impossible burger. Their menu also features salads, and french fry bowls with chicken, bacon, and ranch dressing!

The menu at Wayback Burgers also includes several different kinds of fries along with cheese curds, fried pickles, tator tots, and onion rings.

And Don't Forget the Shakes!

Shakes are the real stars at Wayback Burgers. The Register reports that they're made using Blue Bunny ice cream, and feature flavors like the Dubai Swirl, Chocolate Brownie, and, the one I know I'll have to try...the Banana Cream Pie!

The new Wayback Burgers in Waukee celebrates its grand opening today! They'll remain open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. I can't wait to give them a try!

Iowans Name Their Favorite Small Town Restaurants

I asked Iowans on Facebook what their favorite small town Eastern Iowa restaurant is, and there were some great suggestions! According to Google, a town is considered "small" when it has 5,000 people or less. Our list includes restaurants in towns that have a population of 7,000 or less, and some of them have MUCH less! Here are 19 recommendations from folks in Eastern Iowa:
