Johnson County is getting a new restaurant in the very near future! Izumi Sushi & Hibachi is preparing to open a new location at 395 Beaver Kreek Center in North Liberty, the former home of Pizza Ranch.

Just yesterday (May 8th), a new page for Izumi North Liberty popped up on Facebook. The first post from the new eatery said that it is getting ready to its doors and to follow the page for the latest updates. The restaurant's intro reads:

"We are pleased to offer fresh sushi, grilled hibachi, curries, teriyaki dishes, noodles, appetizers & more! We are an independently owned, family-friendly company & look forward to serving you soon!"

The North Liberty Izumi will be the second location here in the Corridor. The first one opened in the former Wasabi Sushi restaurant at 221 2nd Ave SE in Downtown Cedar Rapids back in late 2021. There is also an Izumi Sushi in Clive, Iowa that just opened last year. The other three locations are in North Dakota, where the business got its start.

Izumi is best known for its all-you-can-eat lunch and dinner, which includes a wide variety of appetizers, soups, salads, sashimi, tempura, teriyaki, hibachi, udon, classic sushi rolls, and special sushi rolls. I've eaten at the Cedar Rapids location several times, and everything I've had has been amazing! I'm a huge fan of the hibachi.

There is no official opening date for the Izumi location in North Liberty yet, but in the meantime, you can check out the one in Cedar Rapids. It's open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday & Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. You can check out the full menu online HERE.
