Marion Arts Festival to Take Over Uptown Marion this Saturday
The annual Marion Arts Festival will take place on Saturday in Uptown Marion. The event will feature many local vendors and also feature emerging artists in the area.
The Marion Arts Festival will take place on Saturday, May 18th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Over 50 different vendors will display their goods in Uptown Marion on 7th Avenue between 10th Street and 12th Street. The activities start on Saturday with the Marion Arts Festival 5K run and walk at 7:30 a.m. The arts festival itself gets underway at 9 a.m. with 50 local vendors and three emerging artists featuring their goods along 7th Avenue in Uptown Marion. There will also be plenty of live music from acts including Bella Moss, Blake Show, and the Cedar County Cobras.
A food court will be serving up dishes from vendors in and around Marion including Frydae, Maid-Rite, Villa's Patio, Egg Roll Lady CR, Goldfinch, Uptown Coffee, and Uptown Snug. There will also be a printmaking activity with the Iowa City Press Co-Op, an interactive paint and graffiti project with 237 Collective, and a wheel throwing and community clay sculpture table with the Iowa Ceramics Center.
