Hawkeye Report says a source told them he "would be out for potentially a couple of weeks due to a plantar fascia issue." Plantar fasciitis is "one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of each foot and connects the heel bone to the toes (plantar fascia)." So far, the University of Iowa only calls it a "lower-body injury."

Tuesday night, Murray took on the Duke Blue Devils inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. Tonight, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, he has a walking boot on his left foot.

Kris Murray and his twin brother Keegan, have played twice against Iowa State. In those two games combined, Kris scored 4 points in 20 minutes while Keegan put up just 9 points in 54 minutes. Admittedly, neither of them scored in the game two years ago when they were both freshmen. In that contest, the two combined to play 21 minutes. Tonight, Kris won't get a third shot at the Cyclones.

Iowa and Iowa State have split the last two years. Iowa won 105-77 in 2020, with the Cyclones winning 73-53 last year.

After tonight's game in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes host Wisconsin Sunday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. The game will be played on Big Ten Network.
