Sports-Themed Soul Food Restaurant Coming Soon
The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that a new restaurant called Fork and Sports is coming to downtown Cedar Rapids. The sports-themed soul food restaurant is set to open at 209 3rd Street SE. That space was formerly occupied by Taco Gato, which closed in November 2024.
Bringing Soul Food Back to Cedar Rapids
The Gazette reports that the new restaurant is the latest venture from Vaosa O’Meara, who brought Harold's Chicken back to Cedar Rapids in 2025. She said that she hopes to bring back many popular soul food dishes that people enjoyed at restaurants like Vivian's Soul Food, which closed in 2022, and Jamaican Pat's Caribbean Kitchen, which closed late last year.

What Kind of Food Will Be on the Menu?
The menu at Fork and Sports will feature fried, baked, and smothered dishes like pot roast, smothered pork chops, corned beef, baked chicken, and fried chicken similar to Harold's, according to the Gazette. Sides will include cabbage, collard greens, red beans and rice, cornbread, macaroni and cheese, and spaghetti. There will be weekly specials, too.
