A New ‘Dark & Moody’ Bookstore is Opening Soon in Cedar Rapids

Cedar Rapids will soon be home to a cool, new, locally-owned bookstore! Sisters Books & Nooks is set to open in the Czech Village this September!

Located right next to Corner Store Apothecary at 1612 C Street SW, Sisters Books & Nooks is an inclusive bookstore and small event space owned by Jamie Sharar and Sarah Danielson. The GoFundMe page for the new business says that the store "will have a chic, dark academia vibe, filled with comfortable seating and nooks for you to snuggle in, chill out, and enjoy a new book during your lunch break or to escape your worries for an hour or two with a mug of coffee or a glass of wine."

In addition to selling new and used books in the romance, mystery, fantasy, and horror genres, the shop will also offer a "small curated collection of children’s books," plus reading accessories, home decor, clothes, and other merchandise from other local entrepreneurs. As far as events go, Sisters Books & Nooks plans to host book clubs and other small gatherings with activities like trivia, crafting, games, and more.

Sisters Books & Nooks isn't the only new business coming to Cedar Rapids' Czech Village!
