In a press release sent to the station by the City of Cedar Rapids, it's been announced that the annual Veterans' Holiday Meal has been scheduled for area veterans and their families.

According to the press release, the annual meal is coordinated by Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee, the Cedar Rapids Veterans Memorial Commission, and Park Cedar Rapids. Veterans, active military, and their guest are welcome to attend and enjoy a traditional holiday meal with a spouse, a friend or just themselves on Wednesday, December 14 from 4-6 p.m. The event is free of charge and will be held at the Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Cedar Rapids, located at 50 2nd Ave. Bridge. Additionally, free parking is available on the 2nd Avenue Bridge starting at 4.

The Veterans Holiday Meal is an annual thank-you to those who have and continue to serve our country, whether they have someone to spend it with or will be alone this holiday and want to enjoy a meal and camaraderie with others like them. We thank them and are grateful for their service.
