Air Show in Tiny Illinois Town Named One of the Best in America

As long as I can remember, I've had a fascination with planes. That's why it was inspiring to me that an air show in a tiny Illinois town that was just voted one of the best of its kind in America.

This is no small potatoes ranking either. It was USA Today that asked its audience to vote for the best air shows in America. The final top 10 are the result of weeks of voting. The competition was intense and included some of the most legendary air shows across America.

What Illinois air show made the top 10 from USA Today?

It's the TBM Avengers Reunion held every May in Peru, Illinois at the Illinois Valley Regional Airport which as a population of less than 10,000.

The official TBM Avengers website says this year's celebration which is set for May 16 and May 17, 2025 will include the United States Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon VIPER Demo Team. Along with the flight demonstration, the weekend always includes a spectacular fireworks show, too.

The fact that an air show in such a tiny Illinois region was included as one of the top 10 in America is impressive. As of the date of this writing, we're only days away from this year's celebration above Peru, Illinois.
