UPDATE 12/20:

ORIGINAL STORY 12/17:

Iowa's own 'American Idol' is taking the stage on a popular talk show this morning!

Last night, Clarksville, Iowa native and American Idol winner Maddie Poppe made a big announcement on social media. She revealed that today, December 17th, she will be making an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show!

Maddie didn't say what she'll be singing, but we're assuming it's a Christmas song, since that's been the pattern with artists on the show this week. Her performance on The Kelly Clarkson Show will be featured on today's episode, which airs at 9 a.m. on KCRG. We will be sure to post a video when it shows up online!

Speaking of Maddie Poppe, she's going to be back in Iowa this week for a concert! Maddie Poppe's Acoustic Christmas 2021 Tour will make a stop at the Paramount Theatre in Downtown Cedar Rapids this Sunday, December 19th at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available, and you can purchase yours online HERE.

If you can't make it on Sunday, Maddie will be doing another Iowa show this month. She'll be performing with a full orchestra at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center in Cedar Falls on New Year's Eve. The website reads:

"Celebrate the arrival of 2022 with one of Iowa's most notable musical voices,
Maddie Poppe, accompanied by wcfsymphony in brand new orchestral arrangements
and winter seasonal favorites."

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show on December 31st can be purchased online HERE.
