Iowans, One of The Most Popular Ford Trucks Has Been Recalled
A recall was issued for a popular Ford vehicle late last month.
Officials from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued recalls for multiple Ford vehicles.
112,000 Ford Transit Connect cargo vans, 38,600 of its 2023 Escape SUVs.
The vans were recalled due to issues with their front doors, and the SUVs were also recalled for instrument panel malfunction, according to reports.
What may be a bigger deal for Iowans is the concern over one of Ford's most popular trucks.
At the end of July, it was announced that Ford would be recalling nearly 900,000 of its newer trucks in the United States. The recall impacts F-150 pickup trucks that were made over a three-year period.
F-150 pickup trucks with model years from 2021 through 2023, and single exhaust systems, make up this recall. Officials confirm that this is because the electric parking brakes can turn on unexpectedly.
Officials claim that Ford's F-Series pickups are the top-selling vehicles in the country.
What Is CausingThe Brake Issues?
According to official government documents,
"Affected vehicles are equipped with a single exhaust system. In the affected vehicles, the rear axle wiring harness bundle may contact the rear axle housing."
Drivers of these vehicles may see a brake warning light on the dashboard.
There have been no crashes or injuries due to this brake issue. However, if your vehicle is one of the affected trucks, Ford will notify you via letter starting on September 11th.
Officials with Ford encourage people with questions to reach out to their customer service line at (866) 436-7332, you can also go to their website.
