Iowa State quarterback Jacob Park has asked Cyclone coach Matt Campbell for a release from his scholarship. This would allow Park to transfer to another school. Park was 4-4 as a starter for Iowa State.

Before the Oklahoma game this season, Park announced that he was taking a leave from the football team due to health reasons. The Des Moines Register reported that Park had failed a marijuana test and was facing a suspension. He never returned to the team.

Park passed for nearly 1200 yards with 9 touchdowns and 5 interceptions for the Cyclones this season. The school said in a statement that it will support Park in his decision to find another school.
