The Iowa State Cyclones are on a roll. First, it was an upset of then #3 Oklahoma in Norman. Then, Iowa State took care of Kansas at home. Saturday, the Cyclones kept the winning streak alive with a 31-13 win at Texas Tech. Their reward? Being ranked in the top 25 for the first time since 2005.

Yes, the Iowa State Cyclones are ranked #25 in the new A.P. College Football poll. ISU sits at 5-2, their best start since the 2002 season. With a homecoming win this weekend against #4 TCU, the Cyclones will become bowl eligible. And it's only October! The game kicks off Saturday afternoon at 2:30 and will be televised by ESPN 2 or ABC.

It's been awhile since meaningful football has been played in Ames this late in the year. And it comes as 'that team out east' struggles just a bit. Consider this. Iowa State is 3-1 in the Big 12. Their game against TCU this weekend is to remain in first place. I don't care who you root for. Having ISU ranked is great for the state of Iowa and great for college football!
