Iowa Nurse Pleads Not Guilty in High School Sex Case
The former Linn-Mar high school nurse who was charged with having sex with a student has pleaded not guilty in a Cedar Rapids courtroom this week.
46 year old Angela Beik will stand trial Sept. 24 to one count of sexual exploitation by a school employee, for allegedly having sexual relations with a 16 year old student. If convicted, she could face five years in prison.
The story broke months ago when Angela reportedly told two colleagues about her affairs with the under-aged student, which were said to have occured in October 2017.
Those co-workers reported this information to supervisors (as required by law) and Beik was investigated, then subsequently arrested and charged by police.
According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Beik was suspended in March of 2018, and then following her arrest, was subsequently fired from both her jobs at Linn Mar School and St. Luke's.
