Iowa is One of the Least Sinful States in America
We're Iowa nice!
WalletHub recently released a list titled, "2019’s Most Sinful States in America," and the good news is, Iowa was nowhere NEAR the top! How did they come to their conclusion? The article states:
"WalletHub compared the 50 states across 43 key indicators of immorality. Our data set ranges from violent crimes per capita to excessive drinking to share of the population with gambling disorders."
The study was done in honor of Mardi Gras, which officially kicks off in New Orleans on March 5th, but surprisingly, Louisiana didn't make the top 5. They actually came in at number 6. Here are the top 5 most sinful states in the U.S.:
- Nevada
- Florida
- California
- Texas
- Tennessee
Iowa ranked on the complete opposite side of the list at number 45. We came in 47th for laziness, 46th for jealousy, and 40th for lust. The only category we ranked in the top half for is greed, coming in 24th place.
The only states to beat us overall were Vermont, Maine, North Dakota, Nebraska, and Idaho.
