Updated: One Killed, Four Injured in Crash on Highway 151
Last weekend was another deadly one on Iowa roadways with at least three people killed in separate accidents.
One Person Killed on Highway 151
Just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday (August 13), a 2-vehicle crash happened on U.S. Highway 151 in Dubuque County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2009 Cadillac DTS driven by Ben Nelson of Des Moines was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 151 when it collided head-on with a 2020 Kia Forte. Nelson, 59, was killed.
There were also four people injured in the crash:
- 40-year-old Yolanda Brown of Des Moines was flown by U of I Air Care to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
- 24-year-old Laura Brinez Camacho of Dubuque was driving the Forte. She was transported to MercyOne Hospital in Dubuque.
- 18-year-old Jorge Alsina of Spain was taken to MercyOne in Dubuque.
- A 17-year-old from Italy was transported to Finley Hospital in Dubuque.
The conditions of those injured have not been released.
One Dead in South Central Iowa
A Sunday afternoon in Clarke County killed an Osceola man.
The Iowa State Patrol says 24-year-old Dignan Forry was traveling at a high rate of speed in a 2006 Toyota 4Runner when the accident occurred.
When Forry topped a hill in the 2800 block of Scott Street, he lost control, and the vehicle entered the ditch and rolled.
Both Forry and his 24-year-old passenger, Kaylie Burke of Carlisle, were ejected from the vehicle. Life Flight Mercy took her to MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. Her condition was not released.
One Person Killed in Black Hawk County Crash
A 53-year-old man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on I-380 Friday (8/11) night, just before 7 p.m.
According to our news partner, KCRG TV-9, Randy Sneed of Tecumseh, Michigan was going south on I-380, near mile marker 67, when he left the interstate and collided with the cable barriers.
Sneed was pronounced dead after being transported to MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.
