This little piggy did not make it to market in Iowa City, and may be looking for a new home.

The Iowa City Police Department received a call Wednesday night, reporting that a small piglet was found running loose near the intersection of North Dodge and Interstate 80 in Iowa City.

Officers were able to round up the little pink fugitive, and put him in the front seat of their squad car, so he may rest from his ordeal.

The piggy was not injured; he was eventually taken to the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center. No, he won't be rendered into ribs, pork chops nor ham, so sorry.

As for the photo the officers took of their new ride-around bacon-buddy, well, a picture is worth a thousand words.
