Hy-Vee is offering a well-earned jumpstart to those employees who bring a helpful smile to every aisle.

The company will reportedly partner with Nebraska's Bellevue University to offer new tuition assistance to its employees and their immediate families.

The assistance is through Bellevue University which means recipients will have to be full-time students through them, but most of Bellevue's offerings are available online.

It's also open to all 85,000 Hy-Vee employees in any state. It offers up to $3,500 annually for employees and $2,500 for their eligible family members. An additional opportunity to apply for a share of $10,500 in assistance for a Hy-Vee approved program will be available as well. 100 applications will be taken. The approved programs of study are generally those designed to further an employee's career with the company, such as marketing or business administration. A few catches to earning this assistance, for sure, but Hy-Vee director of Public Relations Christina Gayman says the company is excited and ready to help.

She told WHO: "A lot of employees have children. The things that they’re going to have to consider for themselves to go back to school this fall may be a little different than something that they’ve considered in the past".

The offerings are expected to be available as early as the Fall 2020 semester, so those interested should act now by contacting your Hy-Vee Store's Human Resources department.
