Hy-Vee in Cedar Rapids Is Now Selling Shoes

Hy-Vee does it all. They've got milk, meat, eggs, cereal, and now you can get a new pair of sneakers or loafers as you're checking out.

Yup, Hy-Vee is in the shoe game.

I noticed this last night when I was grocery shopping at the Hy-Vee on Wilson Avenue in Cedar Rapids. I was surprised when I walked in and saw dozens of shoe boxes all stacked near the entrance of the store.

At first I thought I was in a Twilight Zone episode! I mean, this is Hy-Vee, why are they selling shoes? Did I walk into the wrong store or was I in some kind of weird dream?

It was no dream, Hy-Vee is now a grocery store that sells shoes. And from what I could see, the prices were decent and there was a pretty big selection. The display is right at the entrance of the store so you can't miss it.

The Hy-Vee Facebook page said, "We have some great deals going on in store! Check this out! We have a great selection of summer shoes, and they are all 50% off!"

My co-worker Ryan just told me, "Dude, I'm going over after work to get a pair. They're 50% off and I need a gallon of milk anyway!"

I may do the same, I love a good deal.
