A visit to your favorite convenience store chain could soon be a lot different. Casey's General Stores, which are based in Ankeny, Iowa, is considering adding kiosks where you can order items inside the store, along with self-checkouts.

According to retiring Casey's CEO and President Terry Handley, there just aren't enough people to fill all the necessary jobs. He told the Des Moines Register, “There’s just not that many people to choose from, quite frankly. The one thing we’re not going to sacrifice is the quality of the product, so we have to balance that as well." Iowa's unemployment rate last month was just 2.4 percent, compared to 3.6 percent across the nation.

Casey's hasn't decided for sure to take these steps. This summer, the chain with over 2,000 locations in 16 states, will roll out a loyalty program. It will allow Casey's to offer specific deals based on individual users favorites. One that rollout is complete, they'll be seriously considering the self-order kiosks and self-checkouts.

What do you think about this possible change? Would it make you more or less likely to go to a convenience store?
