Back in operation since July 1, the Cedar Rapids traffic cameras issued over 4600 tickets in just the first week. That's a lot of easy money for the bureaucrats to collect, so forget about fighting City Hall.

Instead, do what I do to game the system... it's really the only way to beat the cameras.

SLOW DOWN and LEARN WHERE THE CAMERAS ARE.

    For the record, CBS2 News reports:

    574 drivers were caught going 26-30 MPH over the speed limit - and at $500 a pop this equals $287,000 in fines.

    Another 2131 speeders were ticketed going 21-25 MPH over the speed limit. and at $250 for each ticket, that $532,750 for the city.

    Yep, it pays to slow down.
