Horizons To Provide FREE Meals To Kids In Cedar Rapids
For the eighth year in a row, Horizons: A Family Service Alliance will provide summer meals for kids in Cedar Rapids. And this year they are expanding that service to help feed kids in Iowa City.
Horizon's summer meals program provides a free, healthy meal to children who would normally rely on the school system to receive a meal. The free summer meals are available Monday through Friday from now through August 23rd. There will NOT be a meal served on Thursday, July 4th.
The locations in Cedar Rapids for the free summer meals include:
- Five Seasons Manufactured Home Community, 3421 Blairs Ferry Road NE from 11:30 a.m. to Noon.
- Kirkwood Estates, 615 Miller Ave Drive SW from 11:30 to Noon.
- McKinley Middle School, 620 10th Street SE from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
- Cedar Valley Townhomes, 3000 J St SW from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m.
- Green Square Park, Thursdays from 12:30 to 1 p.m.
- Hoover Elementary, 4141 Johnson Ave. NW, Saturdays 11:30 a.m. to Noon.
- Oakhill Jackson, 1202 10th Street SE from 11:30 a.m. to Noon.
Hiawatha
- Hiawatha Public Library, 150 West Willman Street from 11:30 a.m. to Noon.
Iowa City
- Senior Center, 28 South Linn Street from 11:30 a.m. to Noon, MWF
Marion
- Marion Public Library, 1095 6th Ave, from 11:30 a.m. to Noon.
