Hiawatha Shooting Injures 17-Year-Old
The Linn County Sheriff's Office is confirming more details of an overnight shooting that injured one person at Hiawatha's Clark St. Apartments.
They say it happened shortly after midnight when they found a 17-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital and is reportedly in stable condition, but his name has not been released.
Hiawatha police told CBS2 there was a party taking place in the apartment building at 79 E. Clark St. before the shooting happened. The shooting occurred outside but the victim was able to return indoors before authorities came. They aren't releasing any details on a suspect but are asking any witnesses or bystanders to come forward with any information.

I live in Hiawatha and our police do an amazing job, but it's scary to hear about these things happening in our otherwise safe neighborhood. It seems difficult to find anywhere this doesn't happen anymore.
