The Iowa Department of Natural Resources documents the fish species you'll find in this place. Brook trout, brown trout and rainbow trout are plentiful. Even more so now that they've introduced another 1,000 to the population.
If you love trout, the Yellow River State Forest really needs to be on your 2021 summer go-to list at some point. The Iowa State Parks website lists the many trails and campgrounds in this region so packing up the family for a weekend really is a viable option.
