Health Officials Find No Bed Bugs at Iowa City Hotel
Following concerns that her recent wedding guests encountered bed bugs at an Iowa City hotel, a bride filed a complaint with Johnson County Health Department.
Health officials say they have investigated and found no evidence of bed bugs on the premises.
KCRG filed the original story earlier this week, and now reports that officials found "no sign" of the critters after a recent inspection.
Earlier this week, Jennifer Werderitsch accused the Hyatt Place hotel of having bed bugs in several rooms after she claims nine of her guests saw the bugs. One guest says she took photos of the bugs and added that she had been bitten by them too.
KCRG obtained a copy of the County's report and "it shows they inspected three rooms and found "No sign of live or dead bed bugs found in any of the rooms."
Public health officials have said most complaints of bed bugs in hotels never turn up any because actions are usually taken before inspectors arrive."
