Hawks Lose Big Ten Opener
The Hawks opened up conference play over the weekend against Penn State. Going into the game, Penn State was on a 12-game losing streak when playing in Iowa City. The last time Penn State at Carver was way back in 2001.....But as we all know, all streaks come to an end.
That's exactly what happened. In a very competitive game, Penn state defeated Iowa 77-73. Tyler Cook led the Hawks with 23 points. He also had 4 assists and pulled down 12 rebounds. The loss drops Iowa's record to 4-4 on the season.
Up next for the Hawks is Indiana Monday night at 7:00 p.m. You can watch all of the action on the Big Ten Network. On Thursday, Iowa travels to Ames to battle Iowa State. That game will be televised on ESPN2.
