A pizza spot that has been feeding the Cedar Valley for decades, will be closing its doors for good. The owners are setting out on their next chapter in life: retirement.
Goodbye Godfather's Pizza
Godfather's Pizza, located at 1621 West First Street in Cedar Falls won't be open for much longer now. The owners of this franchise location are planning to retire.
According to a report from the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier, Michael Timmerman has owned this eatery since 2001.
Godfather's Pizza is a franchise with more than 500 restaurants spread out all across 36 states, according to officials.
There are currently 85 locations in the Hawkeye State, two of them being in Waterloo, four in Cedar Rapids, two in Forest City, and one in Cedar Falls.
When Will Godfather's Close?
If you do want to get one last slice from the decades old business, you've got a little bit of time left.
Restaurant officials confirm that the eatery's last day of business will be on February 23rd. When the doors close on that Friday night, they will be closed for good.
Godfather's Pizza: Decades Old Institution
The popular pizza spot has been in business since opening up in 1977. According to reports, it was first owned by Rigel Corporation.
However, the current owner has confirmed that he's sold the building. It is unclear what exactly the new owners have in store for this new property.
