The holidays are over, but family fun time doesn't have to be.

January is National Skate Month and the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena, home of the RoughRiders is one of 750 clubs and over 1,000 Learn To Skate groups offering FREE ice-skating sessions to their community.

The event will take place this Sunday, January 6th, from 2-5 p.m. at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. It is a free public skate session with professionally-trained skaters on site. Skate rental is free with limited supplies and sizes, on a first come-first served basis.

Members of the Eastern Iowa Figure Skating Club will also hold a free exhibition and presentation that day, from Noon-1:30 p.m., open to the public.
