A series of hoax articles claimed a sequel to the Notebook would be filming across the United States in order to boost page views on discreditable sites. One of the most popular being McKenzie Post in March 2016:

This one speaks for itself, this fake Iowa State Fair Logo was attempted to be passed off as legitimate by Twitter users stating surprise at the phallic nature of a giant barn silo with two bails of hay on either side. Dismissed as an obvious fake by the Iowa State Fair, you can still check it out HERE.

4. Lesbians Sent by Obama to Invade Farms

This one may be the strangest of the bunch, and yet there are major news sources that believe this to be true. Conservative talk show host and angry white guy Rush Limbaugh, accused President Obama and the Democrats of recruiting lesbian farmers to "attack" conservative rural areas of the U.S.

Many LGBT people choose to live, work, and raise their families in rural areas. To highlight the unique needs of this community, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has partnered with Drake Law School, One Iowa, the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and True Colors Fund to organize the Iowa LGBT Rural Summit.

Consequently Rush spent a large portion of his program on August 17 rallying against an impending invasion of rural America by lesbian farmers.
