The preseason in the NFL is the place for young players to make an impression. It looks like San Francisco 49ers rookie and former Iowa tight end George Kittle has done just that. Kittle was a fifth round selection of the 49ers but could end up being one of the steals of the draft as Kittle now appears to be the starter in San Fran.

The 49ers traded tight end Vance McDonald to the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday in a move that will apparently give the starting tight end position to Kittle. Kittle has had a productive preseason including this touchdown catch from former Hawkeye and fellow rookie C.J. Beathard.

Kittle had 10 touchdown catches during his Iowa career. He'll have several this year too as a starting tight end in the NFL. Not bad rookie.
