During their three years of U.S. concert tours from 1964 to 1966, the Beatles never performed in the state of Iowa.

So when news broke that Ringo Starr was bringing his All Starr Band to Stephens Auditorium on September 5, I thought it was noteworthy to report that it was on this date April 24, when Ringo Starr performed at the 1993 Farm Aid concert in Ames.

Ringo always staffs his All Starr Band with top notch artists, and they always load up on his classic Beatles tunes including "Yellow Submarine" and "With a Little Help From My Friends" along with solo hits like "Photograph" and "It Don't Come Easy".

Like the state of Iowa, I never saw the Beatles live either. I've had the luck to see two of the three on solo tours (George in 1974 and Paul for the first time in 1976) If I have the chance to catch this show I can say that I've seen the "majority" of the Beatles live.

Tickets for Ringo Starr are on sale now at the box office and and Ticketmaster.com
