Florida Teachers Arrested After Hosting House Party with Over 100 Juveniles
An elementary school principal in Florida was arrested after throwing a MASSIVE RAGER, where the guests included an elementary school teacher and "more than 100" students.
Principal and Teacher Charged with Child Neglect After Party Turns into Alcohol-Fueled Chaos
A Cocoa Beach elementary school principal and teacher were arrested after police discovered a large, underage house party at the principal’s residence. The gathering, attended by over 100 juveniles, included underage drinking, with several young partygoers requiring medical attention, according to authorities.
Juvenile Medical Emergency and Arrests Lead to Investigation
The Cocoa Beach Police Department responded to the chaotic scene on Sunday evening, finding a crowd of teenagers at the home of Roosevelt Elementary School Principal Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan. Many of the juveniles were seen wearing matching T-shirts, and alcohol was found in coolers scattered around the property, police said. During their investigation, officers discovered a juvenile on the front lawn experiencing a severe alcohol-related medical emergency, prompting Brevard County Fire Rescue to step in.
As emergency responders tended to the intoxicated teenager, Hill-Brodigan was reportedly observed by police turning off the outside lights and attempting to enter the residence. To assist with medical efforts, first responders used auxiliary lights from their vehicles to help illuminate the scene.
Teacher Found at the Scene, Arrested for Role in Party
As the investigation continued, police conducted a traffic stop near the party house, resulting in the arrest of a juvenile driver for DUI. Shortly after, an intoxicated woman approached the officers and identified herself as Karly Anderson, a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary. Police later confirmed her role in the party, and she was arrested on charges of child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Both Hill-Brodigan and Anderson now face charges related to child neglect and facilitating an unlawful gathering of minors. An arrest warrant for Hill-Brodigan has been issued, charging her with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, child neglect, and permitting an open house party with underage drinking.
Brevard Schools Place Educators on Leave Amid Investigation
In response to the arrests, Brevard Public Schools placed both Hill-Brodigan and Anderson on administrative leave while the investigation continues. A spokesperson for the school district expressed deep concern over the incident and emphasized their commitment to student safety.
“We are extremely troubled by these accusations and are fully cooperating with the Cocoa Beach Police Department. Our commitment to student safety remains our top priority,” the district said in a statement.
The status of the juvenile who suffered the alcohol-related medical event has not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
