
Flight to Cedar Rapids Makes Emergency Landing in Chicago
There were some tense moments for 54 people aboard a flight to the Eastern Iowa Airport this morning.
An American Airlines regional jet had to make an emergency landing, just minutes after taking off from O'Hare International Airport. The plane landed at DuPage County Airport around 9:15, according to KWWL. The reason? The flight crew had reported smoke in the cockpit.
A spokesperson for SkyWest Airlines, Marissa Snow, told the Chicago Tribune "The flight landed safely and passengers deplaned normally." All 50 passengers, an infant, and three crew members are safe.
