EconoLodge Guest Stabs Motel 6 Guest After Dogs Get In Altercation

An altercation in Springfield, Missouri led to a stabbing Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Officials say a person was stabbed around 3:30pm outside of his hotel, the Motel 6 on North Glenstone Avenue.

Authorities say two men were walking their dogs on the opposite of a privacy fence separating the properties of an EconoLodge and a Motel 6.

There was a hole in the fence, and the two dogs started to bark at each other until they began to fight one another.

After the dog owners were able to separate the dogs, the two men started to argue about the dogs, which only elevated the situation until one of the men stabbed the other. The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was later transported to an area hospital.

Officials say the stabbing victim was renting a room at the Motel 6, and the suspect had a room at the EconoLodge. Neither man knows the other, but the suspect was taken into custody.
