One of the characters on the hugely popular drama Yellowstone is from right here in Linn County.

His name is Jefferson White and he went to high school in Mt. Vernon. Wide Open Country says he took part in high school speech, the choir, and school plays. However, his acting was also on display at Theatre Cedar Rapids, where he was part of both Treasure Island and West Side Story, according to Wiki.

After his high school graduation, White, who's now 34, went to Iowa State University and he took on his first acting role in 2014 in The Americans. His extensive list of acting credits is available on IMBD.

White's biggest role to date is playing Jimmy Hurdstrom on Yellowstone, now in its 4th season on Paramount Network, which stars Kevin Costner. White was in Hungary filming a television series when his agent called him about going to Utah for an audition. Taking that audition was a good move. Jimmy plays an ex-convict, trying to become a cowboy. You can see him talk about the role, and some of the many scenes he's been involved in, below.

A change in Jimmy's life was a big part of the Yellowstone episode that aired on Sunday, November 21. What does that mean for White's role on the show moving forward? There's some speculation that his character will disappear from Yellowstone in favor of a role on 6666, a spinoff series that will feature the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas. Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is part of a group that recently purchased that very ranch, which had an asking price of $347 million last year, according to Parade. The 6666 Ranch website says it was founded in 1870 and today covers over 260,000 acres.

Before 6666 graces our television screens, another Yellowstone spinoff called 1883 will make its debut. The series, which will star country singers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, along with Sam Elliott, will debut on Paramount + on December 19.

If we don't see Jefferson White on Yellowstone for a while, we know he's not done with shows associated with it. Even though 6666 doesn't have a scheduled air date yet, it's coming to Paramount + at some point. That's great news for White, who Outsider has confirmed will be part of the new series. That leaves only one question? Will we see any more of him on Yellowstone? One thing is for sure, as an avid fan of the show, I'll be watching to find out.
