Drinking Strategy For The Iowa Tailgate Party On Saturday
Penn State comes to town this Saturday to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes. I'm pretty excited for this one! The game will be on ESPN/ABC, with a 6:42 p.m.start. A night game, a national television audience, two undefeated teams and an ALL-DAY Tailgate party!
Now, with the late start it's very important to pace yourself. If you plan to begin drinking when the sun comes up, it could make for a long day. In fact, you might actually be hung over by the time the game starts....And that's no fun. (trust me)
It's REALLY important to pace yourself. After all, it's a marathon...not a sprint. So, take it from me and show up a little later to the stadium on Saturday. Sleep in, take the dog for a walk, rake the leaves, heck - maybe even treat your wife to a hearty breakfast!
After all of that nonsense, grab your pals and head to your tailgate party around noon. That STILL gives you over 5 hours of solid drinking. Trust me, that will be enough time to reach the perfect buzz before kick-off.
I would start off with a few beers, but not frat-party style. Kick things off with 3 or 4 tall boys. After that, let's get to the Vodka. Again, nothing too crazy, the ratio should only be about 70% booze to 30% mix. Nothing to strong...2 or 3 of these refreshing treats and you'll be feeling great!
Remember, it's will be hot on Saturday: DON'T FORGET TO DRINK WATER. If you don't, you'll be sorry. Here's my normal routine:
BEER, BEER, WATER, BEER, VODKA, WATER, WATER, VODKA, VODKA, BEER WATER, FIREBALL SHOT.
Don't forget to pop a couple of aspirin before walking in to the stadium. Most doctors would advise against this, but what do they know? This way your not TOO hung-over by halftime.
Other then that, just don't do anything stupid.
- NO PUBLIC URINATION
- KEEP YOUR CLOTHS ON
- DON'T PUKE ON YOUR FRIENDS
- DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE
Okay, you should be all set! Thanks for listening. GO HAWKS!
