The songwriter behind Schoolhouse Rock's most iconic song, "I'm Just A Bill," Dave Frishberg, passed away, according to the New York Times.

Frishberg's iconic song, "I'm Just A Bill," explains the legislative process within the cartoon in a way kids could understand, and I even sometimes go back and listen to, just to make sure I know what I'm talking about.

Frishberg was a well known jazz pianist and composer, who was even nominated for four grammy awards for his jazz albums.

Frishberg passed away in Portland, Oregon, according to his wife. He was 88.
