When the UNI basketball teams start Missouri Valley Conference play next week, a limited number of fans will be able to attend the games at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls.

No spectators have been allowed inside the arena this season, due to COVID-19 concerns. When the no-fan policy was announced earlier this month, UNI athletic officials said they would re-evaluate the restrictions regularly during the season.

This week, UNI officials announced that spectator capacity for the Panthers' upcoming home games against Missouri State would be capped at 15-percent or 1,163 seats, which includes 125 tickets for students. There will be at least eight feet of separation between season ticket groups.

The UNI men host the Bears Sunday at 3 PM and Monday at 7 PM (time changed from 5 PM, due to television broadcast). The UNI women host Missouri State on Jan. 1 and Jan. 2, both at 2 PM.

According to a press release, single-game ticket sales for men's games are not available at this time. There will be a limited number of single-game tickets available for the women's games. Tickets can be purchased online here.

Student seats are available via a UNI ID at the south entrance of the McLeod Center and are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fans attending the games will be required to wear face coverings at all times unless they are eating or drinking in their seats.

According to a press release, the Panther Scholarship Club (PSC) plans to contact all season ticket holders for both women's and men's basketball via email with additional information. Anyone with questions should call the PSC office at 319-273-6443 or 319-273-2468. Ticket holders will receive an email from UNItix later this week with their mobile tickets.

Fans are asked to review their seat locations. They will not be the same as last season due to physical distancing measures. For the 2020-21 season, fans who are seated in bench seating will be allowed to bring their own seat cushion.

Season Ticket Holders continue to have the following options until Wednesday (Dec. 23). If no selection is made, the default selection will be "KEEP MY SEASON TICKETS".1. CREDIT (Deadline is Wed. Dec. 23): Apply the balance of your account as a credit towards the 2021-22 season.2. DONATE (Deadline is Wed., Dec. 23): Transfer the balance of your account to the Panther Scholarship Club as a 100% tax-deductible donation.3. REFUND (Deadline is Wed., Dec. 23): Receive a refund (less applicable order fees). If this option is selected, you are forgoing your season tickets for the entire 2020-2021 season regardless of capacity restrictions.

4. KEEP MY SEASON TICKETS

  • If there are games with no fans, UNI Athletics will prorate season ticket holders that kept their tickets after the season is completed. For example, men's basketball has 9 home conference games, if fans are in attendance for 7 of those games, our season ticket holders will be reimbursed for 2 of those 9 games based on the season ticket price. (Season ticket holders can allow UNI Athletics to keep all of the funds if they so choose.)
  • If season ticket holders select KEEP MY SEASON TICKETS, no action is needed.
  • If season ticket holders select KEEP MY SEASON TICKETS, and they are not selected to be in attendance based on priority and capacity, they will have the options to select CREDIT, DONATE or REFUND after the season.
