According to CBS2, "The Cedar Rapids Police Department is encouraging residents to stay off roads after responding to multiple crashes early Saturday morning."

As the snow continues to fall here in Eastern Iowa, travel conditions are treacheries, especially on untreated roads. So far, Cedar Rapids Police have reported 14 crashes between the hours of 11 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. on Saturday.

If you don't have to go anywhere, CRPD are encouraging people to stay home. Wind is also a factor that will make visibility greatly reduced. If you have to travel, be safe and slow down, especially on those untreated roads.

CBS2 is reporting the winter storm warnings and advisories are in affect until Saturday evening. You can visit the CBS2 and FOX28 weather center at this link.

Good luck today, my friends. The good news is the snow shouldn't hang around too long. It looks like warmer temperatures are right around the corner....we just need to make it through the weekend.
